Date: Thursday 16 July 2025 Map: Kairaki / Pines Beach. Drive time: 20mins North of Chch airport. Planner: Michael Smithson Controller: Bruce Steven Start time: Mass start at 1pm Course closure: 4 pm Map terrain: Pine forested coastal sand dunes with tracks |

EVENT 2 : LONG
Date: Friday 17 July 2025 Map: Waikuku Drive time: 30mins North of Chch airport. Planner: Alister Metherell Controller: Tim Wright Start times: Pre-allocated start times will be available from 10.00 am Course closure: 2pm Map terrain: Sand based pine forest with a dense network of 4wd tracks, mostly runnable, but some areas of reduced visibility. |

EVENT 3 : SPRINT
Date: Saturday 18 July 2025 Map: Lincoln University Campus Drive time: 20mins South of Chch airport. Planner: Christina Freeman Controller: Martin Peat Start times: Pre-allocated start times will be available from 10.00 am Course closure: 1 pm Map terrain: The map is a university campus with the usual mix of buildings, fences, walls, paved areas, gardens, grassed areas and trees. |

EVENT 4 : ROGAINE
Date: Sunday 19 July 2025 Map: Port Hills (start/finish at Victoria Park). Drive time: 25mins, Southeast of Chch airport. Planner: Greig Hamilton Controller: Jan Harrison Start time: 9.30am for all events Finish time: 12.30pm for all events Map terrain: Steep hillside with areas of pine forest, native bush and open land with an extensive foot and bike track network. Duration: 3 hours for all events. |
EMBARGOES
An embargo is an out of bounds restriction over specific dates, which prevents athletes accessing competition area prior to the competition taking place.
Embargoes apply to all competitors and other persons, to avoid anyone gaining a competitive advantage through recent knowledge of the terrain. All athletes attending the NZ Secondary Schools’ Orienteering Championships (NZSSOC) must abide by these embargoes leading up to the events, and anyone breaching these will be non-competitive at NZSSOC 2026.
